Germany lost their invincibility to the Netherlands in the 2007 FEI European Championships, so all eyes were on these two teams for the Gold and Silver with the USA, Denmark, Sweden and Great Britain battling for Bronze in Hong Kong at the Equestrian events of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. With only 3 riders allowed in each team, this gave added drama to the competition as no scores could be discarded
